A patient's own stem cells (autologous) have many advantages over other cell sources in regenerative medicine. 80% of foreign stem cells die within the first 20 minutes of transplantation. Foreign stem cells are immune evasive but not immune-privileged and a large number will trigger an immune response. Fat is the most abundant source of stem cells in the body by up to 2500 times, but the stem cells are trapped. Providers across many segments such as orthopedics, cosmetics, pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, and more need access to these cells for many conditions that currently have no regenerative interventions: osteoarthritis, myocardial infarction, pulmonary fibrosis, hepatic cirrhosis, and more. In point-of-care treatment and tissue engineering, a serious bottleneck preventing the widespread adoption of autologous stem cell therapies where the patient's own cells can be applied is being able to rapidly and safely get access to large numbers of the patient's cells. In tissue engineering this solves the problem of donor-matching for organs because the organs can be produced from the patient's own cells.

The current standard of care has no interventions that can regenerate cartilage, heart tissue, lung tissue, or produce replacement organs, tissue, and cells that are matched exactly for a patient specificity. The speed and simplicity of our product to obtain high yields of a patient's own stem cells will transform a patient's options in health care. Instead of waiting on an organ donor list for a matching organ, the wait instead will be for an organ to be grown. Instead of a knee replacement, a patient is able to use their own stem cells to regrow cartilage instead of having to undergo joint-replacement surgery. Instead of a lifelong decline of quality of life from a damaged heart, stem cells can transfer new mitochondria to damaged heart cells to rescue them. Instead of a chronic decline of lung function, stem cells can remodel scarring in the lungs. This also applies to the longterm damage that has occurred in many COVID-19 survivors.
