Our proprietary Precision Mental Health technology solves the problem of trial and error within mental health – eliminating the frustrating process of patients accessing the wrong care at the wrong time and leading to faster, easier recovery. It is a breakthrough in the domain of personalized medicine, which recognizes that each person’s path to wellness and mental health is unique. Our precision mental health platform uses a clinically validated assessment to intake self reported patient data, and then leverages powerful machine learning algorithms to identify common patterns in patient symptomatology and demographic information. Drawing on this large data set, our technology develops customized care plans that are unique to each individual based on what has worked for other patients like them. Each care plan has the potential to draw on a combination of clinical and sub-clinical services to provide a holistic approach to mental wellness that’s tailored specifically to each individual’s needs and circumstances. The result is access to the right care at the right time for patients struggling with a wide range of mental health conditions at varying levels of severity. Tech Brief

Our dynamic and proprietary intake process, the industry's most comprehensive mental health assessment, uses AI to predict the appropriate care for each member from the very start, an approach proven to speed up recovery time by 8 weeks. Most intake assessments screen for anxiety or depression. At Spring Health, our proprietary assessment screens for 10+ mental health conditions, including eating disorders, ADHD, postpartum depression, substance use disorders, and more. The assessment is dynamic and asks pertinent followup questions in real-time based on a member's previous answers. Spring Health also invests heavily in consumer-grade digital CBT technology that helps members get immediate access to proven content for depression, anxiety, stress, eating disorders, and substance use issues that are proven to be as effective as face to face treatment at one tenth the cost. In addition we invest heavily in back office technology to automate claims payments, billing, and eligibility tooling so that patients have a no friction experience and so that providers can get paid very quickly with low effort (this helps us attract and retain the best providers). Finally, Spring Health offers Candela, a proprietary system for measuring the quality of care delivered by its network. Candela enables Spring Health to incentivize its providers for high-quality performance, making it the industry's first pay-for-performance system based on real clinical outcomes. Measuring beyond the operational aspects of performance to take into account real, clinical outcomes as a result of care, Candela provides a holistic view of care quality for Spring Health's providers.

The system was developed based on three core components: 1) Candela Dashboard: An internal dashboard that tracks the performance of Spring Health's providers across a variety of metrics including clinical outcomes such as depression/anxiety improvement and depression/anxiety remission. 2) Provider Reports: Monthly reports that are sent to each Spring Health provider summarizing their volume of work, scores and percentile ranks in each metric and visualizations of their historical month-to-month performance in each metric. 3) Incentives: Candela enables Spring Health to reward its top providers with cash bonuses for high-quality performance while offering expert coaching to empower providers to consistently improve their performance.
